Around 1 hour and a half by train from Brisbane, the Gold Coast is famous for its beautiful landscapes and nature. No wonder it is the home for many international students seeking for quality life and fun atmosphere.

BEACHES

It’s impossible to talk about the Gold Coast and not mention the beautiful beaches over there. From crowded spots like Surfers Paradise to the peacefulness of Coolangatta, the city is full of options for the beach lovers. Broadbeach, Burleigh Heads, Snapper Rocks, Tallebudgera, and Tweed Heads are some examples of famous beaches in the location. If you like to appreciate a nice view, it is said that Coolangatta has the best sunset on the Gold Coast. Also, known for its exciting and young vibe, Surfers Paradise is the favorite beach among students.

WORLD SURF LEAGUE

Talking about beaches, the Gold Coast is also the main destination to surf championships in Australia. 🏄‍♂️

The World Surf League (WSL) happens every year on the waves of these incredible beaches. Famous surfers like Kelly Slater, John John Florence, and Kolohe Andino competed in the last few years. The Brazilian surfers Gabriel Medina, Italo Ferreira (current champion), and Filipe Toledo were also on the competition and made the sands of the Gold Coast an arena for the Brazilian fans living there. Duranbah and Tweed Heads were some of the chosen places for the competition on the previous tours.

ENTERTAINMENT

If you’re a fan of amusement parks 🎢, then the Gold Coast has the best entertainment options to enjoy an adventurous day with your friends. Dreamworld, Movie World, Warner Bros, Sea World, and Wet’n’Wild are located on the highway and receive lots of tourists every day. With many attractions and live performances, it is an unforgettable experience. No matter what age you are, it is certain that you will have good fun!

WHALE WATCHING

Would you like to watch a whale swimming in the ocean? 🐳

Every year, the whale watching season (usually from May to November) attracts lots of tourists on the Gold Coast. This unique experience takes 2.5-hour and offers a privileged view of the whales on their natural habitat. You may also encounter sharks, dolphins, and turtles whilst on the cruise, and learn more about their environment.
