Whitsundays is accessible by air, road, or rail.

There are two airports in the region, The Whitsunday Coast Airport, and Hamilton Island airport. Both of them receive direct flights from Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne.

If you prefer driving on the road, it usually takes 11 hours to get there from Brisbane, taking the Pacific Coast Way (A1 National Highway). From Cairns, it takes 7 hours driving south.

Also, there is the Queensland Rail, which is a great choice for those seeking adventure.

However, the main gateway to the islands is through Airlie Beach, which is another amazing spot in the region. Getting in the Port of Airlie, you can take a ferry boat that goes to Whitsunday Islands.

Shute Harbour, near to Airlie Beach, is another port that is viable to go to the island.
