Understand about the English requirements for vocational courses

The VET (Vocational Education & Training) courses are very popular among international students due to the focus on practice skills.

This type of course is similar to a technical course in Brazil and it is a great option to have a professional qualification in different areas in Australia.

Are you in doubt if you have the English level required to study a vocational course in Australia?

Have a look at the post below!

REQUIREMENTS FOR VET COURSES

CERTIFICATE II, III & IV

Certificates II, III & IV are considered the entry-level for international students.

They are more elementary regarding education, indicated for students that aim to learn the basic in relation to a specific subject.

The main requirements are:

  • Generally, the institutions ask for a certificate of English from your previous course.
  • Usually, an Intermediate level of English is enough to start studying the certificates.
  • You will write a lot to make the assessments required in the certificates, so it is a good opportunity to practice your writing skills.

DIPLOMA & ADVANCED DIPLOMA

The Diploma & Advanced Diploma are courses more specific and demanding.

They are indicated if your objective is to boost your resume with a professional qualification and if you already have experience in the chosen area.

In this context, it is important to highlight that some institutions offer a pathway to universities.

The main requirements are:

  • An Intermediate or Advanced level of English.
  • Present the certificates of previous courses such as Certificate I, II, III, IV. (Some institutions do not require. It is important to check with the Educational Consultant).
